I'm In My Grandpa's Stomping Grounds!

Hello all! This week was a blur, and I can never seem to slow down. So much is happening! I'm in Bellevue now!! I left Renton, and part of my heart is still there. However, I'm excited to get to know the people here. Bellevue is actually where my grandfather grew up, so that's really cool! You'll see that I got photos at Sammamish High School--the school where he attended. I really love family history and getting to know stories about my family and ancestors when they were my age. It fascinates me. On Wednesday and Sunday, it snowed! It's also been pretty cold in general, so I'm learning to embrace it. My new companion Elder Snell is way chill. His Spanish is great and we have such a fun time. He is super athletic and loves to work out, which is good for me since I want to gain more muscle. We've been doing a lot of finding like tracting--knocking doors of complexes. The work is a bit slower in terms of teaching people, but we're doing good to find new f...

Inconvenience And Discomfort Are A Part Of Life

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't send an email last week. My phone was being repaired in a shop for 8 days. You can see in my photos that my screen was blacked out. A lot has happened! I went on an exchange with Elder Harward and it went well. We had a soccer activity at our church building and we had a great turnout! The videos show. Our English classes are thriving, with individual and group ones! It's amazing who we've met.  I got news that I will be leaving Renton. I am so sad to leave this area--the ward and the people are incredible. I've grown close with them, so this is hard for me. I know this is what the Lord wants, so I trust Him. I'll be going to Bellevue, so I'm excited! My trainee Elder Miller finishes his training tomorrow! What a great time we had together. We accomplished a lot and I'm proud of him. I'm definitely going to miss him. He's very mature and ready to lead out this Spanish ward in Renton. I am excited for what's to come, an...

Sick Yet Happy

Buenas tardes todo! What a week.  This week was a crazy ride for sure. We had to figure out some arrangements for Elder Miller's phone since it's old and our SIM card didn't work in it. We have to have the SIM card work in one of our phones at all times in order to do missionary work. We got it figured out on Thursday, but we had to get him a new "loaner" phone (it's a church-owned phone). This is important because it's good for him to have experience messaging and calling people in Spanish. Elder Miller only has two more weeks of training with me! Time flies. Wednesday was amazing! We messaged a referred friend who said she'd like English class in her home. Initially, we thought it would just be her. When we got to her apartment, however, she was joined by a friend, son, and husband who also wanted our classes. They all had notebooks and pens! They were so interested and kind to us. We are excited to return and teach them some more. Their names are Ye...
