Seattle Time!

At last, I have made it to Seattle!! I have felt ready for this moment for a while, and it feels right to get out of my comfort zone, knock some doors, teach the gospel, and speak some Spanish.

I am in a trio! Having two companions is so fun! Extra training and instruction. Sadly, one of them finishes his mission on August 12th. His name is Elder Perez, and he's a natural leader. Elder Lancaster is the other killer companion, and he's a terrific trainer. He's been out 12 months.

My first and current area is Kent! I love it, and things are great. I already have my first baptism coming up this Saturday for a 9 year old boy named Yarel. He's solid, and he speaks both Spanish and English, so it made things easier for me.

While most of our lessons fell through or got dropped, we did have 3 or 4 long discussions about the Restoration, which is a win. I contributed some of my testimony of the prophet in Spanish. We've been teaching this lesson to brand new converts named Josefina, Gilberto, and Perla. It's been super awesome to see their sincere interest in hearing more about how the Atonement plays a role in the Restoration.

I'm assigned to a Spanish branch, and it's great. Welcoming people to sacrament meeting and introducing myself as the greenie has been fun. I'm getting used to being called the "baby" and "greenie".

Life is good in the Washington Seattle mission! The work of the Lord is real, and I'm learning it slowly but surely: thanks to the Lord.

Adios!

I can't attach more than three images in my emails, so I had to make changes and create a mission album. Here is the link for the album:
