Testimony-Building Experiences
I want to start by pointing out how interesting it is how we can feel the Spirit strongly when we listen to songs from the Children's Songbook. During Stake Conference yesterday, I got to sing "I Feel My Savior's Love" and it warmed my soul. Thanks to Primary, I know these songs and I'm grateful to sing truths about being a Child of God, doing good if the Savior stood beside me, etc.
We gained two new missionaries (straight out of the MTC) and lost two good ones. This transfer is awesome so far though.
I had another transfer this past week, and it was incredible!! I went with my other zone leader, Elder Isaacson, and he is English speaking. I was nervous knowing I'd have to lead in talking to people in Spanish, so I prayed a ton that it would go okay in street contacting. And it did! Additionally, we had an English class to teach. Meaning I had to teach it as a greenie. I was nervous, but I believe the Gift of Tongues was assisting me. I taught the hour long class in only Spanish!! It consisted of teaching the alphabet, spelling one's name, and getting to know someone. I thanked Heavenly Father for his help.
As for our two people on-date for baptism, they delayed their baptismal date again, so we're really serious with them that this Sunday, September 18th is when they should get baptized. They are ready, but we just needed to reassure them that there's no need to be nervous.
One of our progressing people, named Aurora, has been praying with her family and we met with her yesterday. The Holy Ghost was present when we read a little bit in the Book of Mormon with her. Her daughter asked for an English Book of Mormon, and I happily handed her one. She said she wants to sit in on our lessons. She wants to become closer with God, and my companion and I were excited!! A new friend to teach.
I testify that God works in our lives. I know He guides and cares for us as we serve Him. He is wise beyond comprehension. Being a missionary for Him is such a terrific privilege.
Anyways, adios hasta tiempo siguiente!
