Tremendous Temple Trips And Transfers
I have just finished my first transfer! It was slow, getting used to the rhythm of missionary life; however, it also felt quick because I'm staying busy with making new friends and teaching with Spanish.
At our last zone council, I gave a a training on revelation, and I felt that it went well considering the fact that I feel new. The great thing about teaching is that I always tend to learn too. The missionaries I taught suggested good scriptures that have to do with revelation.
My mission president changed the rule on going to the temple for our mission! Missionaries are allowed to go to the temple once a month!! We found out on 8/30, went to the temple 8/31, and went again on 9/3 for our September trip! Three trips to the Seattle temple within 11 days if you include the trip back on 8/24!! It's the most I've gone in such a short period! I'm grateful for its sacred nature and influence in my life. I even got to do something new! I recorded some of the elders' confirmations after doing some baptisms.
After Elder Lancaster and I advertised our English classes on Facebook, three new women showed up--from Honduras and Columbia. They were so nice and complimented us on our teaching, wanting to come next Thursday! One of them even took a Book of Mormon! We are thrilled by this.
Unfortunately, our planned baptisms for 9/3 didn't happen because our two people on-date got sick, so we had to move it to 9/9. We are praying it will work out this time because they are solid and ready for following the covenant path.
Today is the start of my second transfer (transfers last 6 weeks btw). I'm grateful for the mighty experiences I had and the lessons I learned. I am staying in Kent with Elder Lancaster, and I'm okay with it! Kent is SO chill. Thanks to the Lord, I have seen many miracles and felt His love for His children. Service and teaching as a missionary is the best thing I can do right now, and it's incredible.
Also, President Russell M. Nelson turns 98 on Friday, so that's exciting!! Can't wait to hear from him in 4 weeks!
Adios, familia y amigos!
Elder Jones
