Another Crazy Week
Wowzers! It's insane how fast the weeks go! I've already been in Federal Way for two weeks!
A lot is happening in this great area. We had our Halloween activity on Friday, which had food, games, and makeshift trick or treating in a church building. It was a lot of fun! The craziest miracle happened during it!! We showed up early to set up, and I was excited to see some of our friends there. We invited a lot of people that we're teaching, and we hoped some would show up. Once the activity had been going for 30 minutes, only members were there, and we had friends who said they'd come. We were anxious and looking for them. At last, a family came, but was too nervous and left! We felt so bad and apologized that they didn't feel comfortable. Us and the members were concerned. I realized that God was more aware of our situation than us, so I decided to acknowledge him and pray with Elder Wastlund. As I closed my prayer, one of our friends got out of their car to talk to us!! She and three other friends from our English class had come right when we prayed!!! Some miracles are immediate. Plus, two friends who are coming back to church came to the activity too! I was so grateful to Heavenly Father.
We heard about one of our members doing a Facebook soccer group each week, and Elder Wastlund and I came on Saturday to talk to potential investigators. I was nervous because I don't play soccer and am not that good, but I ended up getting 3 of the 10 goals for my team! And these players were really really good, from all over! They were Russian, African American, Hispanic, and Chinese.
In yesterday's English class, I experienced my personal best attendance--13 students! I was astounded. Half were new, and we are stoked to teach them English.
As for Juan Jose, we invited him to baptism during our lesson, but he said he still wants to learn more! He has come to church twice now and is ready for membership. He is super nice and genuine about the gospel, so we're doing things at his pace.
I had zone conference--that meeting with dozens of other missionaries and my mission president as a training. Super edifying and helpful!
I'm in a bit of a rush, but enjoy Halloween tonight!
