General Conference And Easter

What a time to be a missionary!! There's so much to be grateful for; we received divine inspiration from the Lord's apostles and prophets recently, and Sunday was our sacred Easter holiday.

I apologize for not writing an email last week. Things got crazy, and I ran out of time. However, this email includes photos from last week and this one, and I'll try to include experiences from both as well.

Last week, Elder Snell and I invited our friends to watch General Conference with us, but none of them did. However, we're not too discouraged because we can share insights from it when we teach them on our visits. Plus, one of our progressing friends has the Gospel Library app and uses it sometimes! I know he--Raydel--would read a talk from Conference if we invited him to. Elder Snell and I have already shared quotes and insights from this recent conference because it was so amazing! I enjoyed messages from Elder Nattress, Elder Haynie, and President Nelson. As many of you know, I am HUGELY into music, so I also enjoyed the arrangements performed--especially "More Holiness Give Me". I invite you all to go in the app and listen to this version of the song (under Music>>Conference Music>>April 2023>>Saturday Evening Session>>tap on More Holiness Give Me) if you haven't already. It is beautiful and brings me to tears by way of the Holy Ghost.

Last Sunday, it hailed pretty hard! I loved it. There was plenty of hail on the ground to the point that it looked like snow had covered it. I had fun with it as we were out and about walking outside. It has been decently rainy lately, so it's been great.

We entered a new transfer (new 6 weeks), and both Elder Snell and I are staying together in Bellevue for another 5 weeks. This past week was the first one.

On Wednesday, Elder Snell had his 19th birthday, so he celebrated pretty well! I made sure to make him a big deal too, don't worry. One of our members took us out to Applebee's for lunch to celebrate with him.

On Saturday, we had a weightlifting night with some of the young men and our Branch President. Elder Snell LOVES to lift, so he enjoyed it the most. We want to strengthen the youth and have them feel more comfortable with us missionaries, so we thought this was a great opportunity. It was awesome to be with them!

Our friends are doing a little better. We had 4 friends and 4 recent converts at church for Easter!! We were thrilled by their desire to hear inspiration about this life-changing holiday. Raydel was one of the people at church, and he said we could visit him with a member on Tuesday!! He is progressing so well, and we're excited to see where things go with him. Our other friends are doing great too, but I don't have a ton of time to talk about them.

What I do feel is important to include is how grateful I am for Jesus Christ. Easter as a missionary was so special, and getting to testify of it with others strengthened my faith in Christ. I feel His love each day!

That's it for this one.

Love you all!!

Elder Jones
