Spectacular Service And Soccer
Hello everyone! This was a better week for me.
One of our members had us weed wack and mow the lawn in his and his neighbor's front yard. This was a great service opportunity once again! I love it. This member, Hermano Ortiz, said that we ought to meet this neighbor and invite him to our activities and church. Cleaning up his front yard was one of the ways we wanted to first serve him without even meeting him yet.
We are advertising our Saturday soccer night like crazy! We printed some physical flyers (shout out to my mom--thank you for designing them), and we put them up at some parks. We also posted it on Facebook. We received so many responses! So many were interested in playing, and we had a great turnout!! Six friends came (not members of the church), and four out of those six were new! These friends are from a mix of places: Egypt, Ukraine, Peru, and Mexico! So cool. We met them and had a blast playing with them. They were super good, and I look forward to this next Saturday to talk more with them.
This week was a little hard. Many important lessons were canceled, so Elder Snell and I have had to be patient with these friends and look for other teaching opportunities. Please pray that we can have lessons with Elceo, Marco Torres, and Raydel; these are friends that could really use the gospel light right now.
At church yesterday, my good friend Juan Pablo visited me! For those who don't remember who this is, it's the guy I baptized in Renton in January. He is so kind and called me his best friend. I sure love him! I got to catch up with him, and it's a great feeling to know when a new convert is active.
A creative finding idea that we've been doing in Bellevue is a "gratitude board." Basically, we walk around public places like parks and ask people if they'd be willing to write something that they're grateful for on our whiteboard. We did this recently, and we got quite a few to write! The most common thing was "friends" and "family". I loved this. From doing this, we talked in depth with five people and got their phone numbers! They were interested in things like going to church and soccer night. We saw success from this finding time!
I added a video in the weekly photos of my mission president and his wife. I included it so that you all can see how humorous yet amazing they are. They are incredible! I love serving under their loving leadership.
Here's to another week!
¡Amor para todos de Ustedes!
