Preach My Gospel Changes?!
Our missionary manual, called Preach My Gospel, is what we refer to as we teach and serve as missionaries. It contains counsel and wisdom from leaders in our church on how we can best serve like the Savior, Jesus Christ. On Thursday, we received word that there is a new edition being released! This is so exciting, and I've already been reading some of it on Gospel Library. Also, our area records app, previously called Area Book, was renamed "Preach My Gospel" and shows Jesus being baptized! Our Church is putting more focus on Christ as we serve missions, and I support it fully. I love these changes!
As for friends, we brought a member when we visited Adrian and Raydel. The five of us talked for a while and laughed with one another for twenty minutes. It's good to be real friends with those we teach. Once we had been getting to know each other better for this long, Raydel asked if we were going to teach something! He was alert to our purpose, which we loved! We told him that, of course, we had a message to share. We talked about the Nephites' faith in 3 Nephi 27 as they prayed. We showed the Book of Mormon video that went along with it. Our member, Reyes, shared his testimony of prayer and re-taught them how to pray! It was wonderful. We felt connected at this lesson. When we were about to leave, Raydel asked if we play basketball, and we said yes. We specified that we're not crazy good, but they said they'd be interested in playing with us for one of our p-days (Mondays)! So awesome!
Our friends Ronald and Daniela came to English class on Thursday! This was great because we haven't seen them in a couple of weeks. We set up an individual English class for this Wednesday, to which we are going to bring two young members! We are anxious to grow our friendship with them.
Steven and Jeimily came to church! They've been coming for three weeks, but this past Sunday stood out. Steven made a beautiful and sincere comment/testimony about the love he feels from our members. He said we are his second family, and he and our Elders Quorum President had tears in their eyes; the Spirit was there as Steven spoke! He's not a member yet, but he knows what he feels and wants more. We just need to help him know where to find it. I talked to him after and let him know how special his words were. We are determined to meet with him soon and talk about Christ's love for him as he considers membership. He has such a kind spirit!
Those are some highlights from the week. They are brief, but extraordinary.
Just a little bit of my testimony in Spanish.
May the Holy Spirit be with you all this week!
