Temple And 4-Stake Fireside!
Our week was packed with some exciting things. We attended the temple, which was Elder Townsend's first time at the Seattle Temple. We enjoyed it so much. Every time I go up there in Bellevue, it reminds me of my days serving there. It's already been two and a half months since I left Bellevue! Mission time is crazy.
Last night, we had a fireside with Spanish branches from four stakes. What's cool is that I have served in all four! The branches that came were Kent, Federal Way, Enumclaw, and Auburn. It was so neat to catch up with members that I haven't seen in a year. The speaker, a patriarch, had really good Spanish! He served his mission in Argentina, and he spoke really fast! He wasn't even native; he was American, so I was impressed. What a great opportunity to unite with so many Spanish members in the South region of my mission.
Although several lessons canceled this week, we still had some great things happen. We saw some growth with Jose! On Tuesday, we taught him the Restoration with President Casey. Elder Townsend recited the First Vision in Spanish to Jose, and the Spirit filled the room. I'm so proud of this Elder! We invited Jose to read and pray, as this is the way that we learn the truth of our message. On Saturday, he was also able to come to a baptism in an English ward. He brought his son as well! We are seeing his faith and desires grow; we just want him to study on his own and learn for himself too. Please pray for Jose and that he can search for the truth when we aren't with him.
Our friend from volleyball, Christopher, is awesome! He is seventeen and so humble! We played volleyball with him on Thursday, and he basically coached us! We had a lot of fun. We then sat down and talked about the Book of Mormon. We gave him a copy and invited him to read it. He said he would, and we plan to play and read again this Thursday!
We had some more miracles this week. I don't think I go a whole week without a miracle video anymore. A mission is too spectacular of an experience not to have miracles recorded.
I love Auburn! We have transfers (missionary and area changes) this Friday, so we'll see what happens with Elder Townsend and me.
¡Estoy emocionado para la Conferencia General en dos semanas! Será tan lindo escuchar a nuestra profeta.
De todos modos, ¡adiós!
