¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

It's hard to believe that 2023 has concluded. For all of 2023, I was a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is something I am proud of! I get to continue serving for quite a bit more, so that's good.

Auburn is still amazing. I've almost been here for five months, which is crazy! I love it here. As you'll see in my weekly photos, the winter was beautiful! There was no snow whatsoever, but it stayed around 60 degrees for a couple of days!
In terms of the work, I have high faith for our friends—especially as we set goals for 2024.

Audry and Hordania are doing okay lately. Audry hasn't come to church the last couple of weeks because she and her sister are really needing to find a cheaper place to live. Luckily, we found one for them on Facebook Marketplace! We set up a time to meet the owner of this particular trailer home. Although they didn't make it to it, we are going to follow up with them about checking it out. Once they move in and feel secure about where they're living, they'll be more open to meeting with us in person and coming to church. Hordania hasn't come to church yet, but I know she'll be open to learning with Audry when we teach her. Since we haven't been able to teach Audry at all yet, we are going to push her baptismal date beyond January 13th, but we're not sure when yet. Please continue praying with me that she and her sister will open up to Jesus Christ as we help them.

Elder Maycock is stellar! He amazes me every day! He knows how to talk to people in such a friendly and natural way. I am learning a lot from him, and he's helping me to love and teach with more of my effort. His Spanish is incredible too, so we move quickly with everything!

For New Year's, we had a mission-wide zoom call, and we drank Martinelli's sparkling cider! It was wonderful. My mission president, President Henderson, played the guitar and sang to us! We loved it!

I want to close this email with the thing of most significance.
I love Jesus Christ. I am striving to be closer to Him. I use His infinite Atonement because I know it fills my soul when I'm down. I extend an invitation to all of you to include Jesus Christ more in your activities. It makes everything better.

Happy 2024!!

Elder Jones
