400 Or So Church Invites
Hi everyone. It's crazy to think that April is ending and May is approaching. Time flies!
I had an amazing week once again. If you read the title, it's true--my companions and I invited close to 400 people to church this week. We talked to everyone we possibly could. What I mean by this is that we rolled down our windows at stoplights, slowed down in the road for people on the sidewalks, and talked with each person while walking in complexes. We went all out. We competed with two other missionaries on Saturday, and it was fun. We got 162 in a single day. Many people actually said they were open to church, so that was good news.
We are eating with our members a lot more, which is good. This means we get to serve them and gain their trust even more. Our members are such a great support right now.
We went to the temple for a sealing of Elder Thompson's friend. It was a beautiful experience. I got to see members from my past areas.
Things are FANTASTIC with Fernando right now. When we met with him on Saturday, we started reviewing some of the things that we taught him. We focused on the prophet, and he enjoyed it. He wanted to read in the Book of Mormon, too. We read a little bit of 1 Nephi 8 about the vision of the Tree of Life, and it was wonderful. I am so thrilled with Fernando's testimony growth right now. On Sunday, he received the priesthood. On Tuesday, our bishop will print his temple recommend so that we can go to the temple together this Saturday. I'm so excited for him.
Eli and his parents sadly didn't come to church. We are praying for them as they make this big decision of baptism. We know the importance of church attendance for this to happen, so please pray for their family. We love them so much.
We taught Jonatan and Karla the Plan of Salvation. We met with them three different times this week, so we got to teach each part of the Plan with clarity. They believe it's true. As they continue to meet with us and attend church, we are following the Holy Ghost on when to invite them to baptism. They are definitely feeling the influence of the Spirit as we teach them.
Eso es todo por ahora. Gracias por leer mis correos electrónicos.
Elder Jones
